Tigh Mhic is an ideal place to unwind and enjoy the peace and relaxed pace of life here in East Mayo, or as a base to explore further into the County and beyond.
We’re delighted to report that Tigh Mhic has been given 4 star status by the National Tourism Development Authority – Discover Ireland. It is the only 4 star self-catering cottage in East Mayo.
Tigh Mhic (‘Mick’s Place’ in English) is a beautifully restored, 110-year old Congested District Board cottage in the small village of Bracklagh in East Mayo. While the cottage has kept its original proportions, the addition of new sash windows, underfloor heating, light, bright décor, high-quality fixtures and fittings and comfortable furniture make it a gem of a location.
Set in just over an acre, the property also includes three restored barns and two rescued miniature Shetland ponies – Timmy and Pancóg – who claim to do some of the gardening.
